Beautiful brides and summer blooms

15th June 2012

Hi there flower lovers.  Been too long since I have been in touch.  This is summer….right???   Cause there is a chilly wind whistling down Hyndland Street that would take your nose off!!!!!

We have been totally non-stop with gorgeous brides and their beautiful wedding flowers, and the coming months are just as full.  We are loving it. We have had a beautiful few weeks, with our beautiful girls and their lovely venues….not forgetting our grooms too, obviously.  From Fintry, where the sun shone for louise, to the showery shores of Loch Lomond for Karen, but equally as beautiful and mystical as only Loch Lomond can be.  A what a setting The Cruin has, I absolutely fell in love with it.  We has a lovely wedding recently too at The Old Fruit Market, down at The City Halls.  The ceremony took place in the very white and stunning Recital Room.  And our beautiful bride Heather carried the perfect summer posy of white hydrangea, with pops of colour kindly provided by our old chum Amnesia rose, and baby brother Memory Lane, we also used a new friend Sweet Dolomiti, we really do love this guy.  Check out our photo below, we hope you agree.

So we have been drowning in peony roses, hydrangeas and delphinium.  So many of our customers have been bringing their vases to us to fill them with summer scents, and with all this rain outdoors, at least it means we are spending more time indoors to enjoy our vases.  However, a bit of sunshine wouldn’t go amiss….

This week we are looking forward to Ilonas wedding at The Trades Halls, a venue we decorated recently for a Scottish Wedding Directory photoshoot, where we wrapped the bannister in french ruscus and placed big blousy rose heads throughout the whole length of the bannister….wow….it looked stonking….we can`t wait for the photos to come out. And Sara, who is travelling from abroad.  we hope to share their bouquets with you soon, and can’t wait for next weekend weddings, as we feel we know our lovely brides so well through their journey of wedding planning, and are so happy to see all the plans come together beautifully.

Also we are looking forward to working with Amy-Beth at The Royal Conservatoir, and creating gorgeousness for the Graduation Ceremony at the beginning of July.  I do hope the weather gets better for all your happy grads.  On the subject of graduations, we had a big thrill this week when we had the pleasure of working with Karen and her catering company and creating vase arrangements for two lovely dinner parties at The Glasgow Art School, and working with her in the fabulous McIntosh Library….what a huge honour for us.  I still can`t get over how beautiful and amazing it is,  or how many talented people there are in this lovely city of ours.  The work on show at the Degree Show is really outstanding.

So with such a full week of work, I am going to have an early finish at 6pm and go to the gym…..yup…go to the gym….i am not going to head home to open a bottle of wine and eat my entire body weight in pringles….nupe…well not till after the gym anyway…..
