Wet wet wet

Hello flower lovers

What a chill to come home to.  From 35degree heat in Crete to scaping the ice off the car windscreen in the morning….

So happy to be back in our wee shop again, where I came into a harvest wonderland.  Gemma and Rosie had created the most beautiful wedding for Ciaran when I was off sunning myself.  It was a harvest delight, with grasses and wheat and dried lavender galore.  It was such a thrill to be Ciarans wedding florist as we had prepared the flowers for her sister Sonia last summer, and we love it so much when we see our brides and their maids again, always such an honour to be chosen  again by sister of the brides that we have made happy.  Ciaran carried a very Scottish bouquet of white roses, anemones and thistles with lavender and wheat being very present in the theme of the day.  And all topped off  with the ceremony and reception in the fabulous National Piping Centre.  We really do love this place, and the staff there are so friendly and professional.

And it was Jennie and Jamies wedding today at House for an Art Lover.  Always a stunning venue come rain or shine, and autumn was the theme of the day, Hypericum berries and black Vibirnum berries provided the pop of autum while our lovely faithful red Grand Prix roses were the main attraction. We loved their idea of a forest floor of autumnal leaves scattered on the table tops. As always it is such a pleasure being involved in couples Big Days and we never tire of the thrill of delivering flowers to our brides and grooms to be.

We caught up today with our lovely contract customers, visiting Velvet Elvis, Bibis Cantini, Russell Cowie Hairdressing and The Bungo. Being out and about in this weather is a bit of a challange though isnt it?

And Jemma and I have made a decision…WE PROMISE NOT TO MENTION CHRISTMAS BEFORE DECEMBER 1st… Oh no we won’t.  I for one am already sick of hearing about how many weeks I have until I need to order my sofa for Christmas… doesn’t santa just bring one anyway?

Happy Birthday to Jemma on Thursday , and her lovely hubby Jim on Friday… And pop in on Saturday to see the return by popular demand of our pumpkin flower arrangements… it is nearly Halloween !

Off to fine tune the details for our three lovely brides this saturday.  Stacy is getting married in a manse in Galloway, Kristina is marrying at Brig a Doon Church then to the Hotel, and Lynn is marrying at the amazing Tron Church in Buchanan St and Paisley Town Hall… and David is not getting a lie in this weekend as he has to work hard too… less COD time there for the boy, poor soul.

So should I do the right thing and head for the gym… or go home and pull the curtains on this miserable night…
